Privacy Policy

Pickle Spots respects your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the Pickle Spots app and related services, how it is used, and who can see it.

• Your email address and password, to create your account and sign you in • Your name and phone number, which you enter when you sign up • Your DUPR ID and doubles and singles ratings, if you add them • A profile photo, if you choose one • Your precise location, only if you allow it (see Location Data below) • Your check-ins, planned visits and play history at courts • Teammate requests, messages you send to other players, and who you have shared your contact details with • Reports you send about courts, such as a missing court or wrong details

• To create and manage your account • To show courts near you, how busy they are, and who is playing • To check you in when you arrive at a court and out when you leave • To let you plan visits, add teammates and message other players • To send you notifications you have turned on, such as when a nearby court gets busy or a teammate checks in • To keep the app secure and working reliably

Location access is optional. With “While Using the App”, your location is used to find courts near you and to check you in when you arrive. If you choose “Always”, the app can also check you in and out while it is closed, and look for busy courts nearby so it can notify you. Your location is sent to our servers when you check in, and the area you are looking at is used to look up courts. If you turn on “Need a teammate”, your area is stored rounded to about 1 km so nearby players can find you, and is forgotten when you turn it off. Location is never used for advertising or sold. You can change location access at any time in your device’s Settings.

When you are checked in at a court or have planned a visit, other players can see that you are there or coming, with your name, profile photo and rating. Teammates can see when you check in. Your phone number is only shown to players you choose to share your contact details with. Your email address is never shown to other players.

Profile photos are reviewed before they are shown to other players. You can change or remove your photo at any time.

We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising. Data is shared only with service providers needed to run the app: Supabase (accounts, database and hosting), OpenStreetMap (court locations, looked up by area), Open-Meteo (weather, looked up by your location or a court’s) and Apple or Google (maps and directions). We may also disclose information when required by law.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access rules that let each player read only what they are meant to see. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

• Edit your profile, ratings and photo in the app • Turn location access and notifications on or off in Settings • Turn off automatic check-in and check in yourself instead • Delete your account by emailing support@picklespots.app

You can have your account and personal data permanently deleted at any time. What is removed and how long it takes is set out on our Delete Your Account page.

Pickle Spots is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of Pickle Spots after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
